Statisticians are in great demand to help scientific and technological organizations design complex studies, gather and analyze data with appropriate models, communicate findings, gain actionable insights, and make informed decisions. Statistics plays a crucial role in solving practical problems arising in a multitude of fields, including agricultural, social, natural, medical, business, and engineering sciences.
Within the statistics and data science major, it is possible to complete either a BA or BS degree. In addition to general education and major requirements, a BA degree has additional foreign language and humanities requirements while the BS degree requires a natural and quantitative course.
