Nondegree Students
I want to take an online class without being formally admitted to a program.
If you are applying for a certificate program, please follow the application steps for freshman, transfer or graduate students.
If any of the below ring true, you should consider applying to take a class as a nondegree-seeking student.

I want to get started now, but I haven’t been admitted to a program yet.

I’m worried online classes won’t work for me and want to test the waters before applying to a program.

I want to take a class online but will be transferring the credits to another school.
Undergraduate Nondegree-Seeking
You can take up to 15 credit hours as a nondegree-seeking undergraduate student.
Graduate Nondegree-Seeking
You can take up to 9 credit hours for one semester only as a nondegree-seeking graduate student.
Note: Nondegree-seeking students are not eligible for financial assistance or scholarships. Approval as a nondegree-seeking student does not guarantee acceptance to a degree program.
Application Deadlines

Applications are accepted year-round. Early application is encouraged. The fall semester begins in late August, the spring semester begins in late January and the summer semester begins in late May.
Request Documentation
If you apply as a nondegree or restricted student, you will not be required to submit official transcripts. However, you may be required to submit unofficial transcripts if you are enrolling in:

a graduate course and have never taken classes at K-State
-
an undergraduate course that requires prerequisites
Check Application Status
The nondegree-seeking application process takes 1-5 business days. Upon approval, you will receive a confirmation email with instructions on how to enroll.
