Master's in Special Education Program

All students are required to meet the general university admission requirements.

Additional Requirements

• Successful teaching and/or other relevant experience
• Relevant prior education equivalent to K-State's programs for certification to teach in elementary or secondary schools
• Must be eligible for licensure in elementary or secondary education and have taken one of the following courses (or an approved equivalent course):
• EDSP 323 - Exceptional Student in the Secondary School
• EDSP 324 - Exceptional Child in the Regular Classroom

• Committee members may recommend additional coursework based on your individual needs.

This program is designed for teachers interested in advancing their knowledge in the field of special education and for careers working as special education teachers serving students with high or low incidence needs. Graduates of this program work with students receiving special education through a variety of service delivery options (e.g., inclusion settings, resource programs and/or self-contained programs).

Master of Science Degree in Special Education
