Teaching Students With Autism Graduate Certificate

Gain the skills and understanding needed to provide special education programs for students with autism spectrum disorder.

The online teaching students with autism graduate certificate provides special education teachers with the understanding and skills to lead special education programs for students with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). This certificate does not result in an endorsement in ASD.

In this program, you will learn the characteristics and causes of ASD, identification and assessment procedures, effective educational interventions, program delivery and transition approaches. In addition, you will participate in an advanced practicum under the supervision of a university supervisor and qualified cooperating teacher.

This graduate certificate is designed to extend your education if you have already completed a master’s degree in special education or are currently enrolled in the Master of Science in Special Education at K-State and wish to add the teaching students with autism certificate.
