Indigenous Educational Leadership Certificate

Indigenous Educational Leadership Graduate Certificate

Develop the skills needed to lead and advocate for indigenous students and families across tribal, federal, state and local educational systems.

The online indigenous educational leadership graduate certificate was developed to help leaders working in Indian education contexts be more prepared to work in and across the various bureaucracies and programming which represent overlapping sovereignties from the tribal, federal and state levels. You will learn about fundamental histories, tribal sovereignty, systems and bureaucracies associated with Indian education, culturally responsive education, and how to lead and advocate across those contexts.

This program is built around a new set of leadership standards produced by the Tribal Education Department’s National Assembly (TEDNA). The program can be completed in one year. Cohorts start in July and finish in June of the following year.
