All students are required to meet the general university admission requirements.

Your application must include the following:

• Professional resume or curriculum vitae
• 1-2 page statement of goals and professional experience that includes the following information:
  • career and professional goals and aspirations, and how being accepted to the program will benefit the goals and aspirations
  • the reason for interest in seeking the graduate certificate in academic advising
  • evidence of motivation, leadership and strong work ethic
  • professional experiences that support application
  • If you are an international student, you must include a statement that you are taking all courses through distance education and will not come to the U.S. for any program coursework
  • For resources to help with writing the statement, visit the Purdue Online Writing Lab (OWL).
• If your cumulative grade point average is below a 3.0, you may be asked to submit current Graduate Record Examination (GRE) or Miller Analogies Test (MAT) scores.
