Academic Advising

Once you are admitted to K-State, you will be assigned an advisor who can help you reach your academic goals as a distance education student.

Your advisor can provide information to help you explore all your options and make decisions that best meet your educational needs, including:

  • What classes to take, and how many classes to take each semester based on the time you have and the class requirements

  • Time management and study tips so you can maximize the hours you do have

  • Available financial assistance and scholarship opportunities

  • How long it will take until graduation, and the best path to degree completion

  • Career opportunities and resources for preparing for the workforce

Your advisor is available via phone or email, and some advisors use additional methods of communication to keep in contact and be as accessible as possible to you.

Learn more about your role as an advisee by visiting the academic advising website.
