Minor
The animal sciences and industry online bachelor’s degree will prepare you for all levels of the agriculture and food industry.
This program will provide you with a foundation of basic science and animal biology and then build your knowledge in the areas of business, food/meat processing, livestock management, technology, evaluation, quality assurance and food safety. The animal products option will prepare you for a career in the food industry and coursework is centered on the wholesomeness and safety of animal products. The production management option will prepare you for a career in animal husbandry, including the breeding, feeding, care and welfare of animals.
Admission Requirements
All students are required to meet the general university admission requirements.

Additional Requirements
To qualify for admission into this program, you must have already completed or meet the following requirements:
- 30 college credits with a 2.0 minimum cumulative GPA and completion of the following courses:
- ENGL 100- Expository Writing I
- ENGL 200- Expository Writing II
- COMM 106- Public Speaking I
- BIOL 198- Principles of Biology
- CHM 110 and 111 - General Chemistry with Lab
- MATH 100 - College Algebra
- Reside within the U.S. (active duty U.S. military personnel and dependents are exempt)
If you have not completed 30 college credits, you still may be considered for admission on a conditional basis as you work to complete the requirements. However, it is strongly recommended that you complete the minimum requirements before applying for admission in order to prepare for the animal sciences coursework.
